I kicked my wife out of the house and shielded my daughter from her after discovering where shed been taking the girl.
My wife and I have been together for six years. She has an eight-year-old daughter who was just two when we met. Her father walked out months before she was born, then out of the blue, he showed up at our doorstep last December while I was at work. When my daughter first saw him, he barely showed any interest in her.
Two weeks later, my wife suddenly tells me theyve agreed on shared custody. She wouldnt tell me where the man lived or even give me his number.
My wife always drives our daughter to and from school and her after-school clubs.
But I noticed that in early January, my daughter started refusing to go to her fathers. She said his place was horrible, filthy, and she couldnt sleep there. She told meright in front of her motherthat she didnt want to go anymore. Then, last Friday
My wife finished work at 8 PM and was supposed to pick up our daughter straight after. By 9 PM, neither of them was home, and my wife wasnt answering her phone. I rang her sisters, her motherno one knew where she was. I even went to her workplace, but it was empty.
Just after 2 AM, my wife and daughter finally walked in. I stood up, furious. My wife just said, Sorry, with this innocent look on her face. Her story? Her phone died at work. She drove to her exs place but thought no one was home. She couldnt call him, so she waited. They showed up after 9 PM with takeaway. The father claimed theyd walked to the shop and grabbed food on the way back. My wife went inside, let them finish eating, then said she dozed off on the sofa, woke up at 1:45 AM, and raced home. She insisted she was exhausted from a long day.
Finally, she gave me his address and asked me to drop our daughter off the next day. When I took her there, I found out it was a run-down shack by the road in a rough part of town! Cockroaches everywhere, beer bottles scattered about. The man was sitting there in his underwear, staring blankly at the wall. I took my daughter straight back home.
Tonight, I found out my wife had been giving him money and topping up his phone from our family budget. Are they back together? At this point, Im done with all the lies, and I reckon theyve probably slept together.
Last night, I told her to leave and demanded she let our daughter stay with methis is the only place shes safe. I wont send her to that dump! My mother-in-law fully supports her living with me, and legally, Im listed as her guardian.
Seems Ive got no choice. Ill have to see how things play out.
